Tuscaloosa, Ala. – Walmart has announced a free community wellness event in collaboration with Tuscaloosa City Schools and the New Heights Community Resource Center. Scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, from 2 to 6 p.m., the event will be held at the New Heights facility located at 3834 21st Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
The highlight of the event will be Walmart’s Mobile Wellness unit, which aims to support local families’ health and well-being. Participants can engage with a local pharmacist, transfer prescriptions on-site, and learn more about Walmart’s pharmacy delivery services. Additionally, free health screenings will be offered, dependent on availability and applicable state law.
This initiative emphasizes accessible healthcare within a community-centered framework, with over 20 agencies joining to distribute information and resources to attendees. Kalissa Bormann, New Heights/Zone Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Access to healthcare and information is vital, and this event is one more way we are working to meet families where they are.”
