Adam Winegarden Named Head Coach of Albertville Aggies Football
ALBERTVILLE – The Albertville Aggies football program has appointed Adam Winegarden as its new head coach, bringing a wealth of experience and a successful track record. Previously, Winegarden served as the director of leadership and high school relations for Troy University, attaining an impressive overall high school coaching record of 131-55 (.704).
Winegarden’s selection followed extensive discussions with district officials and community leaders, showcasing his keen interest in the Albertville football vision. He emphasizes a coaching philosophy focused on the holistic development of athletes from grades 7-12. “He’s a fantastic person and deeply committed to nurturing talent,” said Albertville High School Principal Steven Hudgins. Winegarden’s approach aligns with the program’s goals and aims to foster long-term success.
Prior to Troy, Winegarden revitalized the Tuscaloosa County High School program, leading them to a winning season after years of struggle, and achieved significant playoff success at Auburn High School. His coaching journey began in Georgia, where he honed his skills over a decade at Dalton High School.
A Memphis native and former quarterback at the University of Chattanooga, Winegarden holds degrees in education and exceptional learning. Both Albertville Superintendent Dr. Bart Reeves and Principal Hudgins expressed confidence in his ability to build a thriving football program that unifies the community.
Winegarden will begin his role immediately, with a community introduction scheduled for June 9, 2025, at the Albertville Fine Arts Center.
